About Fernanda

Growing up in the high density environment of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Fernanda dreamed of living by the sea to enjoy a coastal lifestyle.

By the time she began body-boarding at 11 years of age, it became clear to her that the ocean would provide the focus in her life.

In her teens she began planning to travel around the world and was particularly attracted to Australia, where she was to meet her future husband.

Together they have traveled to many of the world class surfing destinations and continue to do so, instilling in their children the love of traveling, meeting new people and enjoying different cultures.

Fernanda is mainly a self taught artist, yet has trained with renowned artist Leann Hansen on the South Coast of Australia, Sonja Georgeson of Manly and has successfully undertaken several intensive courses in the National Art School in Sydney.

Her love for the ocean is reflected in her paintings and her aim is to bring perspectives of the sea that only a surfer could convey or accomplish. Her paintings of waves and seascapes have attracted public and private commissions in Australia, Brazil, Portugal, France and the United States of America.

Fernanda is willing to work from a photograph and can be commissioned to create an original artwork that brings the sea into your environment.
